It’s always entertaining to view the quarterly results for top telecommunications companies in the country, as their performance results are very enlightening, and not to mention, these companies also significantly influence our overall economic performances too. Nevertheless, Sprint has released encouraging data for their latest Q1 2011 results, whereby the company has reported that they have gained 1.1 million new subscribers to their services.
Generally, out of the 1.1 million subscribers, 846,000 are prepaid users, while the remaining 310,000 are postpaid. And as for their operating income, Sprint recorded $259 million on $8.3 billion revenue, which is up 3 percent as compared to the previous year. However, Sprint recoded a net loss of $439 million after minus taxes. CEO Dan Hesse commented that the company is growing slowly, but the progress is very steady indeed.
