Foxconn has been embroiled in countless of controversies over the past couple of months, whereby earlier this year, the company has recorded an unusually high number of suicides in their manufacturing plant that is located in Chengdu, China. Nevertheless, the controversial saga continues to this present day, whereby apparently, their manufacturing plant that manufactures the iPad 2 has exploded a couple of days ago and killed 3 employees in the process.
Foxconn representatives commented that it was likely that an explosion occurred at the ventilation duct, whereby aluminum-dust deposits were the primary cause of the explosion. And you know the drill – the company has vowed to make improvements in their workshop ventilation system, and also revamping the company’s policies and practices in relation to the aluminum dust disposal. Personally, I find Foxconn to be somewhat inept in running their manufacturing factory, don’t you think so? Or perhaps they just want to save a couple of buck in the manufacturing process.
